Submarine volcanic eruptions modify oceanic geochemistry. A study of the Fani Maore volcano (Mayotte) reveals localized alteration of sediments due to the diffusion of CO₂-rich magmatic fluids. This leads to carbonate precipitation, offering new clues for studying marine volcanic environments.
