The steering committee of the DIM PAMIR (Domaine de Recherche et d’Innovation Majeur – Patrimoines matériels – innovation, expérimentation, résilience) has voted, as part of the 2023 Call for Projects, to fund the EXTRAAAAAA equipment project: Automated and Improved Extraction of Molecular Biomarkers.
EXTRAAAAAA aims to acquire equipment for the automated, reproducible, efficient and rapid extraction of molecular biomarkers from the geological, archaeological and biological matrices in which they are preserved. This equipment will make it easier and more reliable to prepare samples upstream of the LSCE’s technical platform for analysing molecular biomarkers, which is integrated into PANOPLY and RéGEF. It will thus be possible to speed up the preparation of large series of samples and improve extraction yields in order to guarantee sufficient quantities for specific analyses (radiocarbon dating of individual compounds, certification of structures by NMR).
