Presentation
The Organic Geochemistry technical platform is dedicated to the analysis (identification and quantification) and purification of organic molecules (or “molecular biomarkers”) preserved in geological archives or archaeological contexts or artifacts. This technical platform is part of the “GEOF” instrument network of the RéGEF research infrastructure, and is integrated into the PANOPLY platform shared by LSCE and GEOPS.

The technical platform consists of :
- Molecular biomarker preparation chain
- EXTRAAAAAA: Automated and Improved Molecular Biomarker EXTRAction
- MARS6 Microwave-assisted extractor
- MULTIVAPOR solvent evaporator
- EXTRAAAAAA: Automated and Improved Molecular Biomarker EXTRAction
- Identification and quantification of molecular biomarkers by GC-MS
- Molecular fraction collector for individual dating of specific compounds
- Quantitation of organic biomarkers by GC-FID
- Determination of isotope ratios on individual molecules using GC-IRMS. This equipment is integrated into the IRMS ORGA technical platform.
