We are pleased to announce the launch of the 14C dating research laboratory’s mini-website (https://www.lsce.ipsl.fr/en/14c-en/).
This new platform aims to enhance the visibility of the service we offer to all, while reflecting the diversity of the research themes carried by our team members. It highlights the variety of projects we coordinate and, consequently, the wide range of scientific languages we can bring to very different interlocutors. It also sheds light on the investment pursued over the past 70 years in scientific equipment, which has resulted in today’s analytical facilities, renowned for both their quality and diversity. The site also revisits the history of 14C dating at LSCE and will gradually provide essential insights into a method that is far from fixed: constantly evolving, it continues to raise many questions and stimulate research into 14C production and its cycle on global, regional, and local scales, in connection with climate and the environment. For now, an initial illustration presents the method, but more will follow, including the discovery of a 14C comic strip, created before the 1990s by an unknown author and carefully preserved in one of our offices.
This website is therefore a showcase of who we are and of our daily commitment to a living, active research field.
Thank you for visiting and helping us improve its visibility (click, click, and click again… from different places!!).
