Presentation
ClimaTicTac is a collaborative strategy game. Players fight together against the threat of global warming, winning or losing together. It’s up to them to act according to the hazards of the climate and the levers of action available to them. Will they adapt their cities to the risks ahead? Will they take direct action to combat the increase in CO2 in the atmosphere? The choice will have to be made, but will the mounting disasters give them enough time?

ClimaTicTac was created by a group of around fifteen researchers, doctoral students, post-doctoral students and scientific mediators from the Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace (IPSL) and the Association Science Technologie Société (ASTS). The idea behind the game was to raise young people’s awareness of the global challenges of climate change in a fun, non-threatening way. ClimaTicTac received financial support from La Diagonale Paris-Saclay and the Ile de France Region. It has also been awarded the CNRS Medal for Scientific Mediation (https://www.iledefrance-gif.cnrs.fr/fr/cnrsinfo/le-cnrs-distingue-le-jeu-climatictac-parmi-les-premiers-laureats-de-la-medaille-de-la).
Numerous science outreach sessions have been held in secondary schools in the Paris region to promote the game, and have been a great success with both young people and teachers.
