DEMENT: Agent-based microbial model

Agent-based microbial model

DEMENT is an agent-based, spatially explicit model that simulates the microscopic processes of soil organic matter degradation by microbes. It explicitly represents both the diversity of organic substrates and the functional diversity of microbial communities. The model allows for analysis of how microbial community composition and ecological interactions influence soil organic matter dynamics, as well as how community composition shifts in response to environmental changes.
