Aline Govin and Aurélie Van Toer from the CliMag team attended theXRF workshop held on the island of Texel (Netherlands) from October 7 to 10, organized by NIOZ and the company Avaatech.
On the agenda: scientific presentations, technical updates, training sessions using datasets, a presentation of the 6th-generation Avaatech scanner, and networking!
Aline presented reconstructions spanning 400,000 years of variations in the intensity of the Iceland-Scotland Overflow Waters, one of the main branches of the deep ocean circulation in the North Atlantic. These results were obtained in part thanks to the XRF scanner acquired by the LSCE in 2019.
The workshop concluded with a half-day of presentations and discussions by the French network of XRF scanner users.
