Scientific questions
- What roles have paleogeographic changes played in climate evolution over the last 100 million years?
- How has vegetation evolution (diversity, physiological traits) responded to and influenced climate since the Cretaceous period?
- How can paleoclimate information be integrated into models of biological diversification?
- How can we build and adjust Earth System Models (ESMs) adapted to long time scales?
- How can we understand climate variability (< 1 million years) in modeling ancient climates?
- How can tracer simulation provide constraints on our understanding of past climates?
