Role

Senior researcher in the SATINV team since 2017, I develop and apply methods and systems to quantify surface fluxes of greenhouse gases and air pollutants. I am a specialist of the methane cycle, from global to local scales.

I am the coordinator of the Community Inversion Framework, an atmospheric inversion system used by numerous institutes in France and abroad.

Sujets de recherche

My research activities are divided into several areas:

Development of inversion systems

  • Coordination of the collective effort of the Community Inversion Framework (CIF) since 2018
  • Integration of transport models into CIF to diversify its applications (LMDZ, CHIMERE, FLEXPART, STILT, ICON-ART, TM5-MP, WRF-Chem)
  • Use of satellite data for atmospheric inversion (TROPOMI, IASI, OCO-2, OMI, CO2M, etc.)

Atmospheric quantification of trace gas sinks and sources

  • Coordination of the ESA project SMART-CH4 for methane quantification using satellite data
  • Participation in the projects EYE-CLIMA, IM4CA, VERIFY, etc.
  • Quantification of methane and carbon dioxide fluxes at the regional scale, in particular in Europe, but also in South America, Africa and India

Grants and projects

  • ESA SMART-CH4: coordinator of a project bringing together 12 institutes and companies in Europe and North America to improve understanding of methane emissions using satellite data
  • Horizon Europe EYE-CLIMA: work package leader for the inversion work package of a four-year project aiming to better understand greenhouse gas fluxes in Europe, in consultation with national inventory institutes
  • Horizon Europe IM4CA: European synthesis project in which LSCE is involved, aiming to better quantify methane fluxes in Europe, in Arctic environments, and at the global scale
