Julia Garagnon received this award for her article entitled ‘Impact of land-use on PAH transfer in sub-surface water as recorded by CaCO₃ concretions in urban underground structures (Paris, France)’.

The article “Impact of land-use on PAH transfer in sub-surface water as recorded by CaCO₃ concretions in urban underground structures (Paris, France)”, authored by Julia Garagnon and published in *Environmental Pollution* in 2024, has been awarded the 2026 OZCAR Prize for its multidisciplinary and innovative approach, as well as its societal relevance to the urban critical zone.

Awarded by the national research infrastructure OZCAR (Observatories of the Critical Zone: Applications and Research), this prize is presented annually to a young researcher in recognition of their work in the field of critical zone science.

Julia Garagnon defended her thesis entitled *The Effect of Urbanisation on Subsurface Water Quality in Urban Areas*. Reconstructions through the study of organic molecules in secondary carbonates from the Parisian underground, dated 15 May 2024, prepared under the supervision of Edwige Pons-Branchu and Yves Perrette at the Laboratory of Climate and Environmental Sciences (LSCE-UVSQ/CEA/CNRS). She is currently a research fellow and lecturer at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
