MITATE Lab was an International Research Project (IRP) from the French National Scientific Research Centre (CNRS) investigating the impacts of the Fukushima disaster. It became an International Research Laboratory (IRL) in 2025. By bringing together researchers of multiple nationalities, mainly Japanese and French, and promoting interdisciplinarity, the objective of MITATE Lab is to explore the consequences of the Fukushima disaster and other socio-environmental crises from both a human and an environmental point of view in all their complexity.
