The Académie des Sciences announces the nomination of its new members for 2025. They include Valérie Masson-Delmotte, paleoclimatologist at LSCE (CEA/CNRS/UVSQ).
Valérie Masson-Delmotte, Director of CEA research at LSCE, has been elected to the French Academy of Sciences as a member of the Transition and Environment Commission. “Famous in France and around the world, she is one of the leading scientists of the IPCC”, announces the institution, which salutes her major commitment to understanding climate disruption, in particular through her role in climate surveys based on ice cores, her expertise in the analysis of climate hazards resulting therefrom, and her contribution to informing the general public and leaders.
Valérie Masson-Delmotte, co-chair of Working Group 1 of the IPCC from 2015 to 2023, is now continuing her research at LSCE, notably as part of the ERC Synergy Awaca, which she was co-awarded in 2020.
