Philippe Ciais, CEA research director at the LSCE (CEA-CNRS-UVSQ), has been appointed member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021.

He is the only French researcher elected in 2021 among the 24 other new foreign members of this institution. A total of 65 scientists were elected this year, bringing the total number of members to 860, including 129 foreigners.
