LSCE: Post-Doc / Engineer position: Terrestrial ecosystems influenced by climate and land uses
Position available:

Post-doctoral researcher or Engineer (minimum 5 years high level education)
to work on simulating the influences of climate and land use changes on the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems
using a terrestrial ecosystem model

 Subject: What are the indirect effects of a large-scale reduction in the use of nitrogen fertilizers in Europe?
Impacts will be studied through changes in biomass productions, surface water availability, net emissions of greenhouse gases,
and nitrogen losses for the environment

We seek an autonomous researcher / Engineer who will:
- apply the dynamic global vegetation model ORCHIDEE-CROP to scenarios of climate and land use changes in Europe
- couple an economic model to ORCHIDEE-CROP via their land cover and uses

The work will be based outside Paris (France), on the new campus of the University Paris-Saclay
The candidate must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge in the use of models,
and must have proven experience in simulations on Linux clusters.
A degree in a quantitative environmental sciences discipline, for instance meteorology, environmental physics, or ecophysiology of plants
or animals is required.
Knowledge about soil and vegetation processes is a clear advantage.
The candidate also needs to be familiar with processing models inputs and outputs.
