The Global Carbon Budget 2023 is published
The Global Carbon Project is an international research project under the Future Earth research initiative on global sustainability, and a research partner of the World Climate Research Programme. It aims to develop a complete picture of the global carbon cycle, including its biophysical and human dimensions, as well as the interactions and feedbacks between them.
The Global Carbon Project 2023 is the 18th edition of the annual update that began in 2006, and the 12th edition is available as a collection of living data in the journal Earth System Science Data.
The record level of global fossil CO2 emissions is expected to be reached in 2023
